Just so that my opinion on this whole mess is not lost, basically I'd
like to be counted among Doug's camp, i.e., the function that is there
now is fine and there is absolutely no need to change it.  If anything
is to be changed, it is the wording of the explanation in .lynxrc, and
nothing else.

I do not agree that it is either "fine print" or "counter-intuitive".
The wording of the explanation is perhaps awkward, especially the "as
the default" is positioned poorly.  Perhaps break into two statements:
what the default is, and what the option switch does to the default.  I
also feel, counter I think to what Doug thought, that the word "toggle"
is misleading, since it works only one way, to turn off.
