it doesn't for me: are you sure?  ok, let's check:
could you goto page 2 of (with Screen, make 2 cut'n'pastes):

   Linkname: Economy Outpaces Growth Forecasts
   URL:  http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/WPlate/1999-01/30/
                000l-013099-idx.html
                                
which should not display any links; then enter  > .
when i do that it simply takes me to page 3, which also has no links,
ie it's equivalent to Space = NEXT_PAGE ; just to be sure,
i tried  >  at the final link on page 1, but it simply goes to page 2.
the line in my Current Key Map is

>           DOWN_LINK     move down the page to another link

i'm using 2-8-1rel.1 on IRIX 5.3 with Kermit to my 101-key XT.
