PROGRESS!! this has come up before -- incl your comments -- ,
but we've never nailed it down like this.  i hope Kim is reading this
& is encouraged to have a look at what i suspect is a can of worms
around the  3  commands:  NEXT_PAGE  NEXT_LINK  DOWN_LINK ;
NEXT_LINK needs fixing to do what its name logically implies
& maybe DOWN_LINK can be amalgamated with it (also UP & PREVIOUS).
