It should be able to "handle" them in the sense it ignores anything it
doesn't understand :-) (and if it doesn't, that's a bug).
Actually using them to infer merges is probably not entirely trivial
(since, just like for inferring branch points, you have to go from a
bunch of individual file merges and try to infer a full tree merge,
which may not even be possible for some sets of individual file
records). But if someone writes code to do it, it will happen :-).
