Given the amount of waves the previous incarnation made this is
certainly a good idea. And this is also why it comes into 0.99 - the
"pre-release" for 1.0.

The plan is to fix all bugs / annoyances of 0.99 in 1.0, i.e. making 1.0
a pure bugfix release with no additional features. New development will
reside in feature branches until then or will be merged into an extra
(minor release) branch.
