I have built a rpm also (without hamlib support), here are the 
dependencies as reported by debuild:

libatk1.0-0 (>= 1.4.1), libc6 (>= 2.3.2.ds1-4), libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.2.3), 
libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.2.1), libpango1.0-0 (>= 1.2.1)

Could you Suse/Redhat people please try the rpm to see of it runs okay? 
Otherwise I might have to ask some of you to build a rpm package for me....
