Probably each distro will have a package maintainer, a person who is 
responsible for maintaining the specific package or a bug tracking,
system where you can submit a request.

Until the new release is out, you can even roll your own 
package as an interim solution. In the simplest way it will be a 
zipfile which contains the static linked binary.
