Hi all.

For completeness, the suggested -O3 optimisation Windows GCL also 
compiled and ran CVS Maxima on an 866 MHz PIII Win 2000 Pro 512 Mb 
machine (my previous email referred to the 24 April 2004 source 
package), both with and without "ignore-errors".

"time make check" gave:

real    0m14.400s
user    0m1.860s
sys     0m1.630s


The RT did 2000 (200 3) iterations without error before I killed it.
