Follow-up Comment #3, sr #110195 (project gnuastro):

I tried to install the WFITSIO library from their official tarball using their
documentation in GNU/Linux. The building and making steps were completed
without any errors. But during the testing step the following error showed
up:
*./testprog: error while loading shared libraries: libcfitsio.so.8: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory*

But libcfitsio.so.8 is there in the folder(as a symbolic link). I googled the
error but couldn't find anything useful and also inquired on their official
help desk but haven't got a reply back yet. I've tried various options of
*configure* and *make* and also tried reinstalling but the problem still
persists. 

Finally, I installed the library from my package manager (apt) but I doubt it
was compiled with multithreading options so I want to fix the above error. Any
help is appreciated:)
