A well known phenomenon, depending on the clocking and the quality of the DA
conversion of the graphic card - where Matrox or ATI traditionally provided
better quality
I have positive experiences with the ATI Radeon series, which has both good 2D
and 3D acceleration right out of the box in XFree 4.x and produces a clear
stable image.
