That tells me what to delete that is installed.  My questions is the
leftover junk in the git directory.

For example, on a git clone today I see:
        
kong gpsd # ls *egg*
gps-3.15~dev.egg-info

But on an older cpoy, with git pull today:

dagwood gpsd # ls *egg*
gps-3.12~dev.egg-info  gps-3.14~dev.egg-info

Both were --clean''ed and distclean'ed, so they should be the same!

dagwood gpsd # cat .scons-option-cache
qt = False
