No hinting is implied by the new -s and -f options.  gpsd enforces the new
setting.  Modulo a few bugs I've found.

I have no idea how gpsdctl would do this.  Patches welcome.

Yes.

I have not seen this happen on over a year.  If you can duplicate this
then it is a bug.  Please send details on that bug.

You chopped off the top part.  What version gpsd?

That is standalone mode.  You just showed the existing speed over ride works
in standalone mode.  Did you have a different point that I missed?
