Would all users using the same YAZ Proxy share the same collective authentication, as in PHP/YAZ, perhaps based on the institution where the YAZ Proxy server is located?
If the proxy is used in a session-specific mode (with a cookie) then individual authentication credentials could be used. There shouldn't be any concern in that case. Otherwise, the session-sharing feature could simplybe disabled.
I'm not wild about running large numbers of proxies from a system maintenance point of view, but it is certainly no problem to run a few, and each can have different configurations.
