This is the final 1.0 for atomic_ops.  I should have let you know.
I'm still planning to release a corresponding qprof.  In the worst
case, that may require an atomic_ops-1.1.

Atomic_ops-1.0 uses much of your build machinery.  Hopefully that
will make the Debian package easier.
