Moving that kind of parameter code into the machines is a good idea. This
is the reason for Octal's AUX inputs (besides vocoding type stuff). The
auxiliary inputs on machines don't just have to be an audio signal, they
can also be envelope inputs etc. and there can be an interface for routing
the aux inputs to specific tasks inside the machine. That's the way to go
if you need a function with sample-precision, since OXAPI's parameter
system isn't designed for that. (Few API's are, including LADSPA.)
