Incrementally.

I don't think it would be a good idea to dump everything in the holding
pen; there's no way they'd all get reviewed in a reasonable time.

But there should be an attempt to audit the existing macros. This can
occur gradually. Perhaps bugs or tasks could be created in the Savannah
management interface that would divide the tasks into managable chunks
that an individual could complete in a reasonable time. Issues
discovered with the macros could be brought up on this list and perhaps
the autoconf list for discussion.
