Yes, progress.

Good news and bad news.  Sending the 0x3E sentence fixes the time
offset.  Bad news is that sentence is in Venus 6, but not Venus 8.

I just updated my Venus 8 firmware and no matter what I do the
NMEA time is now always on the top of the second.  So no longer a
problem on Venus 8 with recent firmware.

Can you update your firmware?  Not all Venus has FLASH.

Yes, not as documented.  Send a trace file to SkyTraq, they are real good
at fixing bugs like that.

Two ways to go here.  Improve gpsctl so it can send SkyTraq commands,
like the 3E.  Or improve the SkyTraq driver to always send that
initialization string.  Right now the SkyTraq drivver does no init,
but the gpsd parser allows for a routing to do so.
