I think my old company did some work on OAI (so 4+ years ago) and the
biggest problem with serving OAI was resumption tokens.  In short, if
I remember correctly, a client can go away and bring back the token
later on a new connection to continue its harvest.  There was
something about this which made it more awkward than things like web
browser sessions, but I don't remember exactly what.

I expect OAI has matured and is better-understood now, but I thought
I should mention what little I remember, just in case.
