A possible reason (but I'm still investigating)...

While mldonkey 2.00 had problem sending (and receiving ?) UDP packets if
max_hard_download_rate and max_hard_upload_rate were left at 0, it seems
that recent changes to the rate limiter reversed the problem!

Specifically, I had to set them to 0 to see the Overnet support come to
life.
I wonder if it could prevent extended searches from working too...
