I have a similar, but more annoying problem. I am on OS X Panther, and when I try to post any message regardless of length pan freezes, CPU util spikes to 73%. Any other OS X users out ther have this problem.?

If I try to reply to a message of about 10 or more lines of quoted text, Pan locks up. I have to do a "killall pan" from a console.

I'm running Pan 0.14.2.91 on a Slackware 10 system. I've tried the Slackware provided package, as well as a self-compiled package.

I've also tried blowing away the ~/.pan folder and reinstalling, but nothing helps.

This is pretty much a showstopper for me, which is a shame, since I haven't found another Linux newsreader which I like nearly as much as Pan.

Does anyone have any clues? Thanks.

I've been using pan on OSX Panther since march last year and although I
don't post much, I can post with no trouble.
