Ah, DRM. ;-)

That doesn't sound like a good idea for Social from a user freedom point 
of view.

It's DRM rather than secure communication, which would be a reasonable 
use of OpenPGP, because the intent is to prevent the user from accessing 
information on their own system, not to deliver it to them safe from 
attackers.
