And the answer, again, is that I don't approve of some of the SDG's
resource allocation or the direction Swarm has taken.  That's "why not
me".
Anyone can import their own project under the Swarm `brand' to the Savannah CVS and work without constraint provided they aren't holding back crucial source code to users. To the current Swarm code base, yes, there is some code review (I watch for mistakes) but mainly the tree is quiescent. The point is that a single capable volunteer actually working would soon eclipse anything else happening with the SDG and both make their preferences irrelevant while most-likely changing these preferences at the same time. I would certainly do my best to persuade the SDG to support such a person, and I have. Those individuals, except perhaps until recently, have not existed.
