I _think_ that the only color difference (as of the last time I changed it,
a few weeks ago) is that slang and ncurses combine underlining differently
on Linux console (that's from 1998-1-17, with the corresponding version of
ncurses, since I made parallel changes for the ncv no_color_video in both). 
In that particular case, afaik ncurses is following the spec, and slang is
making an assumption (mapping underlining to bold when the terminal does not
support the first).
