The problem is that the "official" port of KDE 3.1 to Debian/Sid isn't 
finished yet. You either have to "downgrade" to Debian/Woody (="stable") or 
wait another few days.

There is a number of unofficial ports which I do not recommend if you don't 
know what you are doing.

Have a look at http://apt-get.org for details about nice apt sources (for 
example how to get libdvdcss installed via apt-get to watch DVDs)
