In case you know the vaccine it either exists in GNUmed or not. If not you create it by means of the vaccine management UI. Then you select the vaccine and enter the remaining items. You certainly don't worry about indications because they are defined by the vaccine you selected. In case you do not know the vaccine (name) you only know the indications that were vaccinated agains. Now there is either a generic vaccine already in GNUmed for that indication in which case you can select it just like any other vaccine. Or there is not. This is particularly obvious when there was a combi-indication vaccination for which you don't know the vaccine name. So you tick off the indication (INSTEAD of selecting a vaccine) and GNUmed will factor out one vaccination record for each indication under that indications generic vaccine. The Indications field will only be active when there is no vaccine in the Vaccine field. If there is it will be deactivated and show the indications the vaccine is configured for.
