emacs -Q uses 10MB RSS on my machine. Also, it will do just about anything
faster than temacs, since temacs needs to load in even the most rudimentary
functions as it runs.
Thus, Emacs is already as simple as you need it to be. Just don't load
anything in your .emacs.
