Pan says it has 817 lines.

In the Lines column of the header pane.

Invoked on the problematic articles -- #3, 4, and 5 -- the save
command doesn't save anything, not even a file of zero length.

The bodies of those three articles cannot be loaded into the
body pane. That's the primary problem.
