If FreeDiams would achieve the ability to import from multiple (or, better, a 
variety of concurrent) sources, would that include the German commercial 
database or would the proprietary realities likely keep the German database out 
of FreeDiams?

I am just wondering whether the GNUmed "connection to external database" method 
would be:

        German database (if German database desired)

else

        other proprietary db if unable to be imported into FreeDiams
        (maybe requires *its* own custom gm interface)

otherwise

        FreeDiams
        (which can have imported the unrestricted sources)
