  Or make two-dimensional array in memory when renderin first time and
substituting it in  place of table on later passes.

  I read tables.html  briefly and there are some tools to make tabular
data easier to read with speech but how many html author ever read html
specs and care making all tose summary, scope, headers and abbr tags. we
have still too many [INLINE], [IMAGE] and [LINK] even there is alt-tag and
it's use is recommended  on html specs.

   If tables were used only for layout then there will be no headers, no
captions and no summary.

  On the other hand if there is no browser whitch uses these features they
quicly cease to exist in html specs.
