well the reason i thought of static linking is because  i wanted to send the
binary to someone and i doubt they had all the sdl libs required.
he was interested in bontz and so i was going to try to show him the stupid
little demo.

this person is a cs person, but not much of a linux user.

btw did you get a chance to see the demo?
