And there are probably other exceptions from what I described - that's
why I qualified my statements with "usually".

And maybe what appears in a LIST page as a title is not always the same
as what appears on the to line when viewing the document or on a '='
page or on the history page or on the Visited Links page.  I don't
mind that in general, normally the efforts to get a title string seem
to give a reasonable result.

Bela's idea seems to make some sense to me, but the main instigator of
this thread hasn't commented on it at all, execept by repeating what HE
wants...
